The Senior Alliance - Ombudsman Program

The Michigan Long Term Care Ombudsman program strives to improve the quality of care and quality of life for residents of licensed long-term care facilities, including nursing homes, homes for the aged, and adult foster care homes. An ombudsman’s advocacy is guided by the resident’s wishes, completely free, and strictly confidential.

Local ombudsmen are skilled in explaining to residents all their rights; empowering residents to communicate concerns; assisting residents in resolving concerns; providing community education regarding long-term care issues; and promoting the use of best practices throughout the long-term care system. If you or someone you know need assistance from an ombudsman, please call 1-866-485-9393.
