PASSPORT SERVICES AVAILABLE IN THE CITY CLERK'S OFFICE, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM  (Summer Hours)

DO YOU HAVE YOUR U.S. PASSPORT?  Effective as of JUNE 1, 2009, U.S. Citizens must present a valid U.S. Passport Book, U.S. Passport Card, or other travel document approved by the Dept. of Homeland Security, when entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry

The processing time now is as follows:

ROUTINE APPLICATIONS:  4-6 WEEKS

EXPEDIATED APPLICATIONS:  2-3 WEEKS

NEW PASSPORT CARD AVAILABLE:  Not for travel by air; valid for land and sea crossings only between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Card fee for adults $45, and $35 for under age 16.

THE BEST ADVICE ON WHEN TO APPLY FOR A U.S. PASSPORT IS,  "APPLY EARLY!" OR EVEN "NOW" IF ONE MIGHT BE CHECKING ON AIRFARES OR HOTELS OUTSIDE THE U.S.
