Please utilize this page for various updates regarding the coronavirus.

The City of Flat Rock is taking measures to protect the public and our staff in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The health and safety of our citizens and staff are of utmost importance. As a result, the Flat Rock City Hall and the Flat Rock Library will be closed to the public beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice. The Flat Rock Community Center & Historical Village is also closed, effective March 13, 2020 until further notice.

We remain committed to the governance processes that enables us to serve our community with vital city operations and services. Our staff will continue to work from City Hall remotely and will be available via e-mail and phone. A list of our staff directory is available below. Public counter services will not be available, but city operations will continue. Please utilize our brown drop box next to the flagpole in the City Hall parking lot for correspondences, permits, water bills, tax bills, animal license tags, etc.

We will continue to hold our regularly scheduled City Council, Commission, and Board meetings virtually through ZOOM, a video conferencing app. All meetings will remain open for the public to participate by watching, listening and speaking via ZOOM. Information regarding the virtual meetings and how to participate can be found at the link below. Should you have questions or comments that you would like sent to the Mayor and City Council, please email Meaghan Bachman, City Clerk at

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we navigate through this changing environment and take these necessary steps to reduce the spread of illness. These decisions were made after a great deal of consideration. If you have questions, please contact Flat Rock City Hall at 734-782-2455.
