Police Department FAQ's

Police reports can be obtained by simply filling out a Freedom of Information Act form.  This request should take no longer than 5 days to process and can be done 24/7 at the Police Station.
Bail can be posted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the 33rd District Court (19000 Van Horn Rd, Woodhaven Mi. 48183). Bond can always be paid at the front desk of the Flat Rock Police Department with cash only.
The jail operates 24 hours a day. 
Depending on the charge and the extent of the case, defendants awaiting court in Flat Rock could appear anywhere between 1 to 2 days notwithstanding exceptions. Arraignments are held on the court and judge’s schedule. Arraignments are not usually done after 2:00pm. 
The Flat Rock Police Jail does accommodate visitation. Visitation days and times are, Tuesdays, Saturdays and/or Sundays from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Immediate family, clergy and attorneys only.
***All people attempting to smuggle contraband into the jail will be prosecuted.
Cigarettes are considered contraband.***.
Prisoners are fed, have access to telephones and are provided whatever documented medications are provided to the jail facility.

Tickets may be paid online by clicking this link - pay ticket online. 
Pistol Permits are processed by the Detective Bureau. You must be a City resident to apply. Applications and 15-question test are available 24/7 in the Police Station lobby. The application will be processed promptly during normal business hours of the Detective Bureau. 
YES! As a service to our residents, we provide vacation checks to their homes when they are away. If you want the police to check your home when you are on vacation, simply complete a vacation check form. This allows officers to conduct perimeter checks and make notifications in case of an emergency. This form is also used to let us know who will have the authority to be in your home or on your property. Drop off the form to our Police Lobby or mail form to:
